The Maharashtra government announced that it'll lift Coronavirus lockdown restrictions from Monday. A five-level unlock plan will begin from June 7, which can be supported the COVID positivity rate and therefore the availability of oxygen beds within the state. The new order was issued late on Friday after a gathering of the State Disaster Management Authority each day before.

In a statement, the Maharashtra government said, "Lockdown restrictions are going to be relaxed on the idea of COVID positivity rate and availability of oxygen beds in Maharashtra." The degree of relaxation has been decided as per the extent of severity of Covid-19 in those districts.

Level 1:

Shops selling both essential and non-essential items, malls, theatres, restaurants, and public places for outdoor activities are going to be open. Weddings, funerals, industry, construction activities can resume without restrictions. Local trains are allowed with the permission of the local disaster management authority. 18 districts, including Ahmednagar, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Jalgaon, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Yavatmal, will come under this level.


Level 2:

Cities and districts that have 5 per cent Covid case positivity rate and 25-40 per cent occupancy of hospital beds are going to be included in level 2. All restrictions from level 1 will apply in level 2.

Section 144 will remain applicable within the districts that fall into level 2. Mumbai falls in level 2 of the unlock plan.

Theatres, malls, restaurants, gyms, salons and wonder parlours are going to be permitted to work at 50 per cent occupancy. Local trains won't be allowed to work for the overall public.

All shops are going to be allowed to remain open during regular hours. Local trains won't be allowed for the overall public. Section 144 are going to be in situ i.e., less than five people can take in public places.


Level 3:

Mumbai and most of its neighboring cities like Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Navi Mumbai fall within the level-3 category. . These areas will still be under curfew after 5 pm a day . Essential shops can operate will 4 pm on all days and non-essential shops and establishments can now open till 4 pm on weekdays. Malls and theatres will stay closed. Section 144 are going to be applicable in level 3 areas.

Gyms, salons will open only till 4 pm. Restaurants can stay open till 4 pm on weekdays. After 4 pm, only takeaway services are going to be allowed. Public places for outdoor activities will only be open from 5 am to 9 am. Local trains can only be employed by essential workers and ladies . Only 50 people are going to be permitted at weddings and 20 at funerals.


Level 4:

Essentials to remain open till 4 pm on all days. No movement post 5 pm and none on weekends. The manufacturing sector are going to be allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity. . Private offices of only the ‘exempted category’ are going to be allowed, while government offices can operate at 25 percent of their capacity. Weddings may only have 25 people and funerals 20. Palghar, Pune (Rural), Raigad, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg and Beed come under this category.


Level 5:

Cities and districts that have a positivity rate of 20 per cent and above and percentage above 75 per cent will fall into level 5. There would be no relaxation in such areas. An e-pass is required to travel to/from any city/district which comes under level 5.
