The trailer of Mimi released on social media on Tuesday and it started trending success . The film that features Kriti Sanon within the titular role, showcases her journey from being an ambitious dancer during a village to discovering about surrogacy and embracing motherhood whole-heartedly. in fact it is not as easy because it sounds. The trailer showcases the roller-coaster ride of events. From finding a perfect place for Mimi to remain , hiding her pregnancy, handling her dramatic parents (Supriya Pathak plays her mom). The circumstances that follow within the next 9 months of Mimi being a mother are a melting pot of emotions - as is that the trailer. Pankaj Tripathi as Mimi's friend stands by her through thick and thin and serves well with the one-liners and his amazing comic timing. The film, also starring Sai Tamhankar and Manoj Pahwa, has been directed by Laxman Utekar and it's been produced by Dinesh Vijan. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film.

Kriti Sanon reunites with Laxman Utekar for Mimi - the filmmaker previously directed her in Luka Chhupi, co-starring Kartik Aaryan. Mimi is inspired by the 2010 Marathi movie Mala Aai Vhhaychy, which featured Samruddhi Porey, Urmila Kanitkar, Sulabha Deshpande and Stacy Bee in pivotal roles. the first film also won a National Award for Best feature in Marathi within the year 2011.
