On 18 June 2021, Milkha Singh also referred to as The Flying Sikh gave up the ghost during a local hospital in Chandigarh at 11.30 pm on Friday, where he was being treated for Covid-related complications. Now, upon Milkha Singh’s passing, Noida Stadium has put up Farhan Akhtar’s photo, who essayed the role of Singh within the athlete’s biopic on alittle hoarding rather than the late athlete.

To pay tribute to the athlete, a park in Noida put up a hoarding but of the on-screen Milkha Singh - Farhan Akhtar. Netizens found the hoarding and went on to share the pictures on social media and slammed the local authorities, requesting them to require the poster down.

A social media user wrote, "Would request @noida_authority to exchange these boards along the running track at Noida Stadium with the image of the important Milkha Singh and not Farhan Akhtar's character within the movie."

Other netizens went on to share this Tweet and asked the authorities to require immediate action. A social media user wrote, "100% agree….to me it’s a shameful act by someone who used REEL actor picture on these hoardings. Who the hell isn't conscious of our REAL HERO -THE FLYING MACHINE Mr. MILKHA SINGH.@KirenRijiju -Sir, kindly check out this."

“100% agree….to me it’s a shameful act by someone who used REEL actor picture on these hoardings. Who the hell isn't conscious of our REAL HERO -THE FLYING MACHINE Mr. MILKHA SINGH,” one user said.
