India cancels Haj 2021 as Saudi Arabia bars foreign travellers thanks to Covid-19
The Haj Committee of India on Tuesday announced that each one applications for Haj 2021 has been cancelled. during a circular, the Committee said that the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, Kingdome of Saudi Arabia issued a press release informing that thanks to Corona Pandemic conditions, only limited number of individuals would be allowed.
“The Ministry of Haj and Umrah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia |Asian country|Asian nation"> Saudi Arabia |Asian country|Asian nation"> Saudi Arabia issued a press release informing that thanks to coronavirus pandemic conditions the dominion of Saudi Arabia has decided to permit citizens and residents inside the dominion of Saudi Arabia only to attend Haj 1442 in limited numbers. International Haj has been cancelled. Hence, it's been decided by the Haj Committee of India that each one the applications for Haj 2021 stand cancelled,” it read.
"The Kingdome of Saudi Arabia |Asian country|Asian nation"> Saudi Arabia has decided to permit citizens and residents inside the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia only to attend Haj 1442 in limited numbers. International Haj has been cancelled. hence it's been decided by the Haj Committee of India that each one the applications for Haj-2021 stands cancelled," the Committee said.
This year, Saudi Arabia has set a limit of maximum of 60,000 pilgrims inside the dominion , and has barred foreigners to perform the Hajj. during a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah announced that "only 60,000 vaccinated residents and citizens living within the Kingdom are going to be allowed to perform this year's Haj pilgrimage thanks to the continued coronavirus pandemic".
Every year, up to 2 million Muslims perform the hajj.It's a pilgrimage that pulls the faithful from around the world. The hajj is duty on all Muslims to once in their life. it's seen as an opportunity to wipe clean past sins and convey about greater humility among Muslims.
