 Prime Minister Imran Khan praises Pakistan-Qatar LNG deal



LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on today announced that Pakistan and Qatar had signed an LNG deal, saying that it'll help the country to save lots of $300mn annually.

Speaking at the bottom breaking ceremony of the Central downtown ceremony in Lahore, the PM Imran Khan said that his govt had been trying to barter this deal for the past one year.

The PM Imran Khan hailed the downtown Project in Lahore, saying that these will generate wealth within the billions for Pakistan.

He said that it had been time to prevent Lahore from expanding horizontally, recalling that when he was a toddler , the town ended at Zaman Park.


"The first phase [of the Central Business District] project, the federal will earn Rs250bn from taxes," he said.


The prime minister said when the Walton airport is de-notified as per the project's plan, tall buildings are often constructed in Gulberg and Ferozepur road.


"These areas can then become the economic hub for Lahore," said the prime minister, lamenting that Lahore's horizontal expansion had caused a mirage of problems of the town .


PM Imran Khan dispelled the impression that the project are going to be harmful for the environment. "I consider myself the most important environmentalist of Pakistan," he said. "[Before] nobody even thought of planting trees within the history of Pakistan. it had been us [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa govt] which thought of planting trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa."


The PM Imran Khan said that not one tree would be move move for the project. "And albeit a tree is brought down, we've equipment to relocate it to a different place," he added.
