PM Imran Khan to not resign at any cost: Shah Mehmood Qureshi
MULTAN: secretary of state Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said Prime Minister Imran Khan won't resign at any cost.
Talking to journalists and speaking at mass gatherings in his constituency, he said the PTI took power with a mass mandate and therefore the opposition should respect this mandate. He said the state is cognizant of the PDM. the govt isn't worried about PDM agitation. the govt isn't scared of PDM rallies. He questioned why the opposition is expecting January 31 for submitting their resignations. He said the PDM held a fruitless five and half hours long meeting which ended with none conclusion as their faces and visual communication was regretful.
Criticizing India, Qureshi said the Modi government is following the agenda of Hindutva and it's become a key threat to regional peace and stability. He said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is that the guarantor of the country's development and therefore the government is committed to completing the second phase of the CPEC as soon as possible. He said the govt believes if there's peace in Afghanistan, there'll be peace within the region.
He said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is giving top priority to the new trends and expansion of economic diplomacy for the event of the country. In Pakistani embassies round the world, all directions are set.
Earlier, speaking at a gathering to finalize preparations for the prime ministers’ proposed visit to Multan, Qureshi said Multan is that the capital of the longer term province of South Punjab. He said mega projects got to be started in several sectors of the town . The prime minister will announce a mega development package during his forthcoming visit to Multan. the main target is on the event of the urban and rural population of the whole district. Sewerage is that the most significant issue of the Multan city, he said and added the education and health sectors got to be included within the development priorities.
